Amber McFee

Amber

Amber McFee has been a pillar in family law since 2001, demonstrating her deep dedication to guiding clients through complex legal matters. She is committed to fostering healthy post-separation blended families and ensuring clients find peace of mind during uncertain times. Amber’s exceptional service extends beyond her practice, where the Utah State Bar Journal acknowledged her for her pro bono guardian ad litem work. Amber works hand-in-hand with therapists, custody evaluators, other attorneys, and the judiciary to safeguard your life after legal action. Her genuine care and expertise have made her a trusted advocate for families in need.

Alix

Alixandria joined McFee Law with nearly a decade of experience in family law and a steadfast commitment to advocating for children and families. A graduate of the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah, she has been practicing law since 2016 and has built a reputation for her compassionate approach, sharp legal insight, and unwavering dedication to her clients. Her passion for work with domestic violence survivors makes her exceptionally empathetic to our clients and the difficult legal process they face.

Alixandria’s natural rapport with families and children makes her exceptionally well-suited for private guardian ad litem work, a role in which she is expanding under the guidance of McFee Law’s experienced PGAL leadership. In her time with the firm, she has already distinguished herself through skilled client representation and tenacious advocacy. Her work embodies the McFee Law mission: using our legal expertise to help create happy, healthy, and nurturing environments for children throughout Utah.

In her free time, she loves to play games, create art, and spend time with friends, family, and her far too many fur-babies.

Jade

Jade is a first-generation college graduate whose upbringing instilled in her the values of hard work, perseverance, determination, and creative problem-solving. As the oldest of four girls, she naturally developed strong leadership skills, a deep sense of responsibility, and a drive to support and advocate for others from an early age. Those experiences continue to shape both her personal and professional approach today.

Jade earned her bachelor’s degree in Family Studies with a minor in Communications from Weber State University and recently graduated from BYU’s J. Reuben Clark Law School. She is ambitious, driven, and passionate about helping others navigate difficult situations with compassion and confidence. Jade strongly believes in the saying, “we rise by lifting others,” and strives to reflect that principle in every professional setting.

In her free time, Jade enjoys watching movies and getting lost in a good book. She also loves camping, scenic canyon drives, and trying new restaurants with her husband. Around the office, she is also known as Theo’s (Amber’s service dog) favorite person. You can often find Theo curled up beside Jade, keeping her company while she works.

Melanie

Melanie brings a strong background in the legal system and a passion for family law to her role as Lead Paralegal. A native of Tooele, Utah, she earned her degree in Sociology with an emphasis in Criminology and Corrections from the University of Utah. Her legal career began in the Third District Court, where she served as a Judicial Assistant and later as the Case Manager for the Domestic Division. These roles provided her with a deep understanding of court procedures and the complexities of domestic litigation, which she now applies to her work in private practice. Her smart mouth and smart mind bring an unparalleled quality to the McFee Law team and we would not be the same without her.

Melanie lives in Sandy, Utah, with her husband and their beloved fur-baby, Gia. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time at her family’s farm in Tooele, which provides a sanctuary for animals with special needs.

Lexi

Lexi is our Guardian ad Litem Paralegal. Growing up with three younger sisters, and now two nieces, she’s always been a fierce protector, instinctively drawn to supporting and uplifting young lives.

Lexi’s career began in the medical field as a medical assistant for a pediatric general surgeon, where she developed a deep understanding of children’s needs and the importance of compassionate care. After some time in the medical field, she decided to switch paths. Lexi spent some time working in Research and Development, before she came here to McFee Law as a summer intern.

Recognizing her brilliance, incredible work ethic, and dynamic addition to our team, Lexi came on board full time within just a few weeks. As a woman of many talents, she is also our office manager, and assists our lead paralegal.

In her free time, she enjoys live music, camping, finding random things to build, and using any excuse to be outdoors.

Raine

Raine is McFee Law’s Intake Specialist and a beloved member of the team. Raine knows what it’s like for kids of divorce/separating families. They grew up in a blended family, and pride themself on loving four parents and their six siblings. While being the only child from their biological mom and dad, they have a big heart to love their entire family.

After years working in the industry and product manufacturing sector, Raine shifted career goals and transitioned into family law at the end of 2024. They add unparalleled value to the McFee Law team as Raine has a unique perspective on medically complex children. Raine lives with Cystic Fibrosis but despite the limitations that come with their diagnosis, it has never stopped them from having a bright attitude.

Raine’s unlimited love and compassion are paramount to McFee Law’s guardian ad litem work because Raine is a child at heart; and you can’t convince them that mermaids don’t exist.\nWhen not working, they love to play video games, hang out with family, and dote on their amazing husband.

Jake

Jake grew up splitting his youth between Heber City (Utah) West Yellowstone (Montana) and Shelby (Montana). Spending 12 cumulative years in Montana instilled a small-town sensibleness and compassion to his personality. Upon graduating from High School Jake moved back to his hometown of Heber City.

Jake started his working career with Albertson’s Food and Drug, followed by employment within the grocery industry with many organizations such as Coca-Cola, Dreyer’s Ice Cream, Associated Food Stores, and Harmons Grocery Stores. These years of service in the retail grocery industry led Jake to work as a General Manager for a Travel Plaza in Park City Utah for nine years. Retiring from retail in 2021 Jake took time off to focus on family and relocated his family to Sandy, Utah.

Jake has an extensive background in client service and human resource management making him an excellent addition to the team at McFee Law. As Office Manager, there’s nothing he can’t fix. From billing and invoicing to client satisfaction, Jake keeps the office running smoothly and our clients happy. He truly believes that we can help Calm the Chaos of family law through kind-heartedness, empathy, and hometown values.

When not keeping the employees of McFee Law in line, Jake enjoys camping with his family, working on his sports cars, wrangling his three children, and building memories with his loving wife.

Theo

Theo is McFee Law's service dog (specifically Amber's). He is a crucial part of our team as he calms the chaos not only for our staff but for our clients, adults and children alike.
